ANAN TRAIL DESCRIPTION / WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE ANAN TOUR
Anan is the only featured tour that requires a reasonable amount of mobility due to the trail hike in & out.
The trail is 1/2 mile each way through an old growth temperate rainforest. The area is surrounded by huge timber & a diverse understory of various berries, ferns, devils club, skunk cabbage, mushrooms etc. The trail is approx 300 stair steps, 24" wide boardwalk without rails for much of it & some is simply a hardened (gravel) trail weaving through the forest with some uneven ground. Generally a 15 to 30 minute walk. If it is not raining tennis shoes are fine but hiking or rubber boots are always best.
- Always be prepared for rain.
- Rain gear, hat, boots, walking sticks, umbrella.
- Carry an ID. USFS may ask for this.
- You may want to bring either a lunch or snacks to eat once we are back on the boat after your adventure.
